The Leipzig Serenity Retreat is operated by recovering alcoholics and addicts who have changed their lives by using the 12 Step program.
They all found that they could not get or stay clean and sober without help and the use of the 12 Steps.
For the past 15 years they have been taking people into their homes to assist them to stay sober and clean in a safe and healthy family environment. When they discovered that the historical 1920s, three story convent building at Leipzig, Saskatchewan was available for sale, they sold their homes to make the purchase and began work on building a home away-from-home for recovering alcoholics and addicts.
The Leipzig Serenity Retreat offers a five week recovery program. Studies have shown repeatedly that "recovery centre staff ... must understand and truly appreciate what their clients are going through. It is well known that if one hopes to help those in recovery, they must first and foremost have empathy for the plight of the alcoholics and addicts they serve." [Ron Harris] This is what makes Leipzig Serenity Retreat such a success.

Serenity Retreat have lived the broken and tormented lives of addicts and alcoholics themselves and the 12 Step Program has allowed each of them to live clean and sober for years. They have "been there and done that!"
